Good video. You touch on some good points. It would seem to someone who doesn’t know you or know the business aspect of Internet Marketing that you are being rather harsh. In reality, if you don’t ‘work’ for what you can obtain in this business, you won’t have the ’success mentality’ that follows that work.

    Hello Damian.

Well done for stopping and taking the time to present alternate ways of looking at difficulties. I live in New Zealand and because we are a strong welfare state, we too can be easily hooked into the sense of entitlement in these difficult times. I too have lost my employment due to a complicated injury. At 66, I am determined to
educate myself to be successful working from home via the internet.
I fully agree with what you describe as helpful attitudes/thinking.
There well may be many like me who come to your lists who have invested funds, some wisely and some not so.
I’m thinking one of the traps for new players in marketing is no matter how much due dilligence is used, or restraint at not knee jerking into purchases, there seems to be a very long learning
period before we can even begin to feel confident about sticking with one or two systems until wwe are getting results. I’ve heard many testimonies of folk who have decimated their savings, and
done the sort of belt tightening you speak of, and we are non of us that resourceful when under such financial strain. For this reason, I do commend you on taking the time to challenge folk to hang in and not just wish things will come right. That is always a delusional
    position.

Thanks, Damian, for telling it like it is. When people that are supposedly trying to build their own business unsubscribe from a list for “too many emails”, I for one don’t ‘get it’. I am on a whole bunch of lists, for one thing, to monitor what’s going on out there, and see what is being offered. Don’t like the headline, or copy? Delete, and move on, it’s not personal. Every associate I know in this business looks at maybe hundreds of emails a day. So what? I for one don’t want to miss something big by getting off a list or two, that’s not ‘big picture’ thinking…
    Thanks!

    Hi Damian,

I dont normally spend time replying to emails like this, but your video email deserves my time. I was initially just skimming through my mail and clicked on yours, and left it running as a ‘back ground task’ while I carried on checking my email inbox. But after a short while your really got my full attention. I agree strongly with you that life better things only come to you when you make a real effort in the first place. Winning the lottery is well published, so millions of people read about a very few people winning. The reader is ’sold’ on the idea that it is worth buying a ticket every week, but ignores the fact that it is a multi-million to one chance they will win – so they should forget that idea!!! (You would never begin a business based on such a low chance of success!!)
The best things in my life were ALL preceeded by pain.
Please keep up the good work you are doing. You have slowly become one of the marketers whose emails I do read, now I take you a lot more seriously than before. Thanks!
    Best regards, Tim.

You didn’t say something important to ‘Bob’ – If you get training in a ‘proper’ job, it is either somebody working alongside you or you get sent on a training course. If the latter, it isn’t free! Somebody (likely your employer) has to pay for it. So it’s quite fair and reasonable to have to pay for training. You’re not paying to get a job!

you are spot on with your comments on this video. I like your insight and understanding of human psychology and how it relates to the internet and running our own online business. I would like to emphasize the importance of investing in assets for your business such as building a list and having your own products to market. This is much more worthwhile in the longer term than spending money on stuff we don’t really need.
Invest in yourself & your business and the rewards will come but the best part is the satisfaction gained from the achievement in doing so

    Hi Damian,

I have so much respect for what you just set in motion. I am 64 yrs young and am slowly, but surely making my way as an Internet Marketer.

I hope I do not have the “Entitlement Mentality” that you spoke of. I do know that nothing comes on a silver platter. It has been exciting being the student and learning from those that, in my personal opinion, have achieved what I would like to achieve. And during this first few months, I have met some of the nicest people you could imagine doing Internet Marketing.

Nobody owes me anything. If anything, I owe them something. There has never been, nor ever will be, anyone who cross a path in my life that has not been there for a purpose. I have learned something valuable from all of them that spent any time in my presence.

At 42 yrs young, I decided I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up…..so I went to college. What an enlightening experience that was for me. Never too old to learn; I can do it; the challenge was scary and exciting all at once…and I did it!!! Successfully too!

What I do know for certain is, that by some peoples’ standards I am relatively POOR. How wrong they are! What really matters in a person’s life needs to be determined by each of us. If there is no struggle and some pain…there is NO GROWTH!

So I thank you for bringing up this subject and i pat your back for standing up for what you believe in. You are not alone!

    Thank you,

    Hi Damian:

I appreciate what you said and how you came across with this message. You appear to me as a very sincere person who is willing to help other achieve goals in their lives. For myself, being 70 years old, I have been trying to achieve some kind of online business. Over the few years, I am sure I have spent a few thousand dollars, all of which did not pan out. Every day I get bombarded with tons of emails relating to online businesses. One thing I have learned is to filter which are reliable sources and which are not. I don’t believe I have been scammed per se but I find the uniqueness how all these presentations are distributed. The welcome page, generally short is the basic requirement to seek more information. Once you send for the information, then a much more extensive page is presented with numerous testamonials plus what you get. Of course at the very end is the opt in for payment. Generally it is monthly for a membership of $97.00 which is in my case rather costly. When I try to close the page, a window opens telling me if I click cancel, I will have a special price. Generally it is half. Once in awhile, you get a second chance when you try to close and better yet you even get a better deal. I have fell for these and believe me you may get lots of material but many are not useful. When you look at all the business opportunities out there, basically it is the same old stuff. I have joined memberships that although the material is well written and you get all kinds of CD’s, it appears it is for the gurus out there who already know what they are doing. Not understanding a lot of the material that is presented, you just seem you failed and give up. Is it no wonder why most people who try these online businesses fail? It takes a determination, assessment, being goal oriented, trying new things, falling back from time to time, be an overachiever, etc. in order to be successful at these kind of businesses. I have been to seminars where the speakers where very dynamic, give you all sorts or material and a lunch to boot but you know that you start feeling the pressure to buy in when you are offered a very special cost which of course invites you back for the 2nd workshop. Then again, the price is considerably higher but for what you get you seem that is exactly what you need. When the workshop ends, you are in heaven so hyped up you will do anything to get the money so you have this one opportunity to get in on a real deal. That is when it ends. You go home and realize the several hundred dollars that you spent and know that the additional monthly membership cost will be beyond what you can pay. When you talk to the councelors, that is where the real pressure begins. If you don’t have the full amount of money now, you can pay what you have and promise that you will pay the fee a week later. One thing I can say there is an opt out. There is no penalty for this, If you are unable to get the platinum package or whatever, you can just have a basic sysem which takes away all the bells and whistles. You know what I mean, autoresponders, no merchant account, the how too’s and helpful shortcuts for success using search engines, email, etc. Yes, you do have a web site and everything to post your goods whatever they may be. Of course you have a host and a domain and there you are up to yourself to make this a go. It’s not that easy Damian. If you can only realize that a 70 year old man such as myself, brain activity is not as prevalent as before. You can think of ideas but more on a basic level. Your patience runs rather thin, your eyes hurt, your concentration diminishes, and sometime its just easy to say “forget about it!” I live on a fixed income and money is tight. I wish that some of these gurus who already have an established business, can see that not everyone has the money to spend. Certainly, it takes money in a business and to make it flourish but that will come in time. I wrote enough and I hope you can see my side of it. Thanks for your video.

    Best regards to you,

    Mel

Damien, You hit the nail on the head! I think the state of the economy has people a little down and out right now though. Some people do have an entitlement mentality. Some people want a JOB and they are right you should not have to pay for a job but we’re talking about building a business here which makes it completely different. It takes money to make money in that information and training are not always for free. It is a puzzle in a way, it takes time to wrap your brain around this whole IM thing. I’m a newbie who has an aweber list of under 100 but you have to start somewhere! Maybe we can do some JV ad swaps when I get my list bigger. I enjoy your emails. The most difficult thing for most people I believe is the putting in the time for the personal developement that it takes to learn enough so that you have value that is needed to pass onto others to help them grow in their own way. Then success wil come. Well I’m rambling a bit here, gotta go, take care and keep caring… Tom

    Hi Damian,

I retired from being a high school principal for 20 years to take care of my grandchildren. I have been trying to get something going on line and have lost thousands upon thousands of dollars trying to be successful. Mentoring is good if you can afford it, but you don’t know who is a good mentor until you have spent a gross amount of money trying to find out who is good at mentoring. By then, you have no more money and many people simply give up. Believe me, it has crossed my mind many time. I would have given up myself except that I am trying to set up college funds for my grandchildren so they will have a good start at whatever they choose to do.

I did like the video and your comments, but I also understand the negativeness of some of the writers. When you get to the age of some of us old guys, you will understand we have more things, than many younger people, to overcome. The biggest thing is can we be successful within what ever time limit we have. And, yes, we do require more assistance and things may have to be repeated more often before we can grasp the ideas. So I do see their discouragement, as will as all the energy and positiveness of younger people entering the internet to make money.

    Damian,

I’m sorry you had to deal responding the way you did, but i thank you for giving great sound advice, you know in our field we have to sooner or later someone will come up and ask and or give there opinions like these we’ve heard it happends and i think you handled yourself real well Damian.

If I can make something happen so can anyone else on this planet can, but guys you have to follow through and focus on one thing , we know we get way to much information on a daily bases, its good in a way but we have to as marketers to learn and achieve our goals which are the focus of our online marketing home business’.

I point out some tips on this stuff if you must know, granted i am not where i want to be but i sure am content with what i have achieved since coming online back in 2005. Focus on one thing, build your list, affiliate with others, build a friendship or friendships with social media, blog your way to success whatever it takes but the business your trying to build should be your main focus and one more thing you must have to make it online…

you must want to have it to succeed , if you dont want it bad enough your not going to get to where you want to be and that goes with your offline life as well.

Its not about making money for some of us gang its about making all of us money, the net is a big place and theres lots of places to play in, if you dont play fair your not going to win that prize of being content with what you’ve made.

So pointing out that all marketers or that all e-books or all “gurus” are scams is a farce. Each of us market differently and each of us know how to go about it with what we know works but the basic points to marketing is all the same, that will never change so stay focus and learn by exambles guys.

    Thank you. God_bless you Damian

Wow Damien! I totally agree with what you say here. I am doing a training session right now and I still get subscribers thinking I want money when I offer them something free. Some think scam when they see ads on my site. Man I just want to help some of these people. We all have to make money, and the ones that want more through a work at home business, don’t really want to invest their time or money to achieve their goals. I am so glad to hear another fellow marketer say what I have been feeling as well. It takes commitment people!

    Thanks for saying it,

I really appreciate what you are saying in this video. In fact, this is one of the most honest, straight forward, caring things that I have EVER heard from an Internet Marketer. Actually, I have never heard such honesty come from anyone in business online.

It is clear that you are concerned for your readers, for the success of your subscribers, and for humanity in general. I agree with you on the entitlement issue. This goes so far beyond Internet Marketing. It is a disturbing mindset that people think they should “get something” without having to make the sacrifices that are needed to obtain those things, whether they be necessities or wants.

I have seen this over and over again, like you have. I have had people ask me to show them how to make some cash online, and have spent hours and hours teaching and helping them, only to have them tell me it is not worth the effort for such a small amount, or most often, ridicule me for my own efforts, telling me that “they cant possibly waste that amount of time for such a small sum”
At the same time, these individuals wont waste any amount of time looking for a paying job. There is basically nothing I can do to help, and neither can you. Unfortunately, the message might just be lost on folks who dont want to nor care to get it.

However, It is a message that we All still need to hear, something that propels us to work harder and realize that we are not entitled, that we have to earn what is coming to us. It is a timely reminder for those of us who know this but sometimes get to feeling sorry for ourselves or lazy in our efforts. It is actually rather inspiring, to be honest with you, because it comes from your heart and is just so real.

    Thanks for sharing:)

@Mike – Don’t let that get you down – for every downer there’s a lot

@Rose- Nice speaking to you the other day there in Pennsylvania I believe? How are you ? Hope you and your husband are fine and I hope my advice helped you!…

@John- Hey John- I know there was no malice, I’m just doing this to help everyone – I used this title to grab a bit of attention, so I could get the most people to watch this video so they could rise above these conditionings….

    @Don – Great points, yes, he didn’t realize that…

@Heather – Wow that is such an honor to hear that- thank you
so much, I felt in my spirit tonight so so strongly to make this
video- out of compassion for people who may not realize the
mindset which is bad for them-

I’m sorry you had some experiences of ungratefulness- and I want
to really tell everyone – to appreciate the small things and big things
people do for you- but most of all- even if you’re in pain and think
you have nothing to give- please give a smile, an encouragement,
a phone call, or whatever you can give to those in your life-

Heather- remember we sow into fertile soil, what we sow into rocky
soil will not take root- and we that’s how it will be- but I believe
that people will be changed and lives changed through this- and I know you care too- I can feel that for sure!…

@Everyone – Work, do what you know to do, and keep your attitude up, forgive those that wrong you, but do not blame anyone for any setbacks- just learn, adapt, become stronger, and focus on who you can help with your business- then you’ll have prosperity thrown at you literally… Be a rare gem in the world – and you have to do it

I nearly didn’t listen to your video as so many take ages to load up but I am glad I did and will definitely listen to future ones you post.

I especially liked the comment about not going to Walmart’s that you can afford AWeber etc. In the UK we don’t have Walmarts yet I expect we will soon and we already have plenty of equivalent places.

I have spent thousands unnecessarily on different schemes and plans for making money on the internet but am fascinated by all

Incidentally how do you get your video to work without making the viewer pause for each bit to load?

Sometimes though it is nice to get something good for very little. The only things I unsubscribe to are things that you need a credit card for as I don’t have one and I can’t get one. But as I told you once before I am not out of the race yet and don’t intend to be either. Just gonna take me more time. Kinda neat knowing someone with the same birthday as me… lol

    Hi Damian,

I hear and see the mentality you refer to regularly and it is the antithesis of what our country was built upon. It takes a can-do, will-do attitude to truly be successful and content in life. I too have wasted money on courses and such but that does not keep me from moving forward. Instead I take the life lesson from it and try to find the right people to be mentored by as this is definitely the way to exponentially move forward.

I also hear in your demeanor that you are speaking the truth in love constructively. This is not to harm others but to try and get them out of destructive thought patterns where they can never thrive and reach their goals. May those folks who need to receive your words and apply them to their lives for their betterment.

Thank you for your shining example.

Hay, you are so cute!, you are honest I respect you for that, I think it is a mixture of both mentalities, the I get something for nothing and I expect it to be free, I like the approach you took, I have never ever done something like this, it gets frustrating at times especially when my sales or even on my blogs I get no followers, but it is ok, because it is a challenge for me to try harder and if I see that 1 person responds to something I did than I say to myself ok, I am seeing progress I have no experience I first had to learn the language of marketing I did not know what a html was, or a network, or web page or affiliate so it was challenging, I do not blame you I take step by step and I stay focused and I take breaks when I get frustrated than I get right back to it is not the money so much for me its learning a new skill it might make me more marketable, when I go back to work it’s a win win situation for me now that I am not working when the economy picks up, I will have learned a new skill and I can bring that to my new job people are in patient, I will tell you it is time consuming but like you said if there is no pain you can bet there is very little gain, I have made some progress and it surprises me sometimes because people tell me you can”t do this, everything on the web is a scam I shut them out and push forward and I read allot of material on my spare time and most of all I enjoy doing this, so I would not take these people comments to serious, I do want to say I have one big complaint it is when websites do not work—passwords do not work it is crazy, but other than that I am glad I am learning how to be successful
I do not depend on someone making my way to success, you can not do it for people they have to have the desire and they have to
be successful on there own, anyone can be

@Diane- do you have a free gift page? Sounds like you need
to get more agressive with the most rapid ways to build your
    list-

Take a look at one of my free gift pages here:
    http://optinemailmachine.com/squeeze
    (It’s hooked into Aweber)

Something like that is the core of what you need
to build your list- if you need free gifts to put on the page
    here’s where I get that:
    http://optinemailmachine.com/resellrightsfortune

Then search Google for “JV Giveaway Events”, put
your gift page in them as a “Contributor” – This
will allow you to build your list to say 300 in 1-2 months
    time at the most-

Then- do “JV Ad Swaps” with other beginning marketers
whereby you each send announcements to your list of the
other person’s gift and page- In this way you can grow the list
    quickly to over 1,000, 2,000

At this point, combine it with other traffic methods as
you go, and track each traffic method with it’s own form
so you know where they’re coming from-

Consider placing “Exit Splash” on both your opt in page
and download page- and pointing to an affiliate offer you choose

This will increase your profits about 300%

    Exit splash is here:
    http://optinemailmachine.com/exitsplash

    Hope that helped! :)

Damian, You are a very nice young man who seems to have his head on straight. I enjoyed your video and only one thing bothered me. Speaking for those of us who are one step away from life on the street, I hope you don’t label us as greedy, self centered people for working as hard as we can to succeed in internet marketing. Many, like us are already thinking of ways to give back. And just as soon as we are able, we will.

My special interests are the veterans and abused children. I just lack the money to be of service. But that will come soon enough.

One other thing, Damian, Did you send me a letter which we received on Friday, with an opportunity to assemble and staple booklets at $20.00 apiece. You were to send two kits and two staplers so we could get started. Is someone just messing with us or you? Or is this opportunity genuine?

I sure would like to know.

That was a very good presentation – I think you said all that needed to be said there.

We too in the UK have a rotten dependency culture that has gotten worse under our current government – too many people seem to be happy to go with what the nanny state government says and the ones that dont wish to work are happy taking the over geneous benefits – enough about politics.

Afraid you are always going to get these sorts of people anywhere – unfortunately as in anything in life you must be prepared to put in the graft, understand what you need to do and fail along the way – like it or not thats the way life is. And your right, if your not willing to spend a bit of money and experience a little pain how can you expect to be in the right mindset to run a business – after all in any business things will go wrong, you will take knocks – perhaps these people are the types that shouldn’t be looking at an online business or any other come to that.

I would agree there are a lot of duff products out there but my view always has been that you need to get the basics in place first, before buying products, ignore hype and try to work out the structure/model of any product or program is before you buy – after all theres enough review sites and blogs out there to steer you.

If need be find a good coach if necessary, the key is to be concentrating on the right things and not wasting time and money chasing money – a good coacg should be able to teach you this.

    Right ON!

This “Entitlement” attitude may be the biggest threat to world and national and local peace that people are not taking seriously and talking about! Bad Rappers and Fringe Sports Greats behave badly in their demands for “Respect” even when they have not earned it. Immigrants (I am one from 35 years ago) believe they are entitled immediately to all the benefits for which residents have paid years and years of Taxes so they can be eligible. Romani parents believe that their children in North America are entitled to receive education in strange mutations of Slovak or Bulgarian, and it is the teachers who must turn cart-wheeels to make them feel “comfortable and wanted”.

The USA Bill Of Rights laid the foundations for these problems when it said that Individuals have Rights when the Declaration should have said that people EARN RIGHTS by their contributions to the societies and countries that they live in and receive the benefits from (excuse the Grammar). We will continue to have unreasonable behaviour motivated by unreasonable expectations until the Tribe Leaders in Thought and Behaviour start publicising this as a SERIOUS PROBLEM, much bigger than people expecting to get rich quickly on the internet.

Now I find myself looking to using it to try to earn an income. Yes it is a learning process. But people like yourself and others who are already in the business have been Fantastic in helping with your advice, the giveaways, learning tools, guidance and much more. I guess the folks who wrote the e-mails don’t want to take the time to search, listen, read and learn. Many of you have taken the time to answer questions and steer me in the right direction. I am deeply appreciative. Sometimes it takes trying something several times before you get it right. Thanks to all of you I am able to do things now I never thought I would be able to! You touched on the problems of others in your video. You must not take it out on the majority of the people who feel there is no hope. You can either ignore it or embrace it and solve the problem. Some people need to see before they believe. So don’t take it personal.

Move on or take the personal challenge to show people. Either way Damien, you will be successful in any choice you make. You will be helping the Minority or Majority, don’t let either of them get you down about their comments. It is nice to see your sincerity in helping others.

    Hi Damian,

I’m a little confused. You give away so much free stuff already, how can anyone think that you could give away more?

I have little money and work many hours to get it, so it is difficult – that’s the fun! How to overcome difficulty is only that (overcoming difficulty) if there is a difficulty in the first place! On top of that there are some really – and I mean ‘really’ – great people out there that are just longing to help. There are affiliate systems that allow you to get back what it costs for the training, simply by introducing others.

Times are hard and some people have it harder than others – and a lot of the on-line business methods are hard to understand, but there is so much help and so much free stuff and so many lovely people ready to give it to you.

    Hi Damian,

    Happy Birthday !

I have to tell that I was a little bit like that(wanting to do something with nothing). But I’m glad to say that I was over with it long time ago.
I was looking for free autoresponders, free hosting, etc…
Now I ended up with Aweber, $25/month hosting, paid link cloakers…

Still I do not have many leads, but at least I know that it it the right way!
You have to give somethin to receive somethin, right?
Anyway, I’m very glad to found this site, and I’ll try to learn something here!
If I need some advice, do you mind me asking?
I think it’s not shame to ask, I hope you agree?
Sorry about my english, still learning.
    Thanks for the video!

    Hey Damian…

Nice blog you have here !

I agree with all that you said…

I just wanted to add that while you are one NOT to do this.. I think a lot of the resentment that many have come from these compelling sales pages of promises to get rich over-night and there are people out there that believe they will get rich without any effort. Those are the same people that play the lottery with the high expectations of winning.

You just don’t get something for nothing.

20 dollars month is nothing to pay for the service you get from aweber. I started out using an autoresponder from my server, but I regret that decision as I wished I had started out using aweber from the start.

Anyways, I am a new member here… Great Job, Damian..

    Brother Damien,

I’ll try to keep this short as possible.

You are to be congratulated on a speech well done. The fact that the responses to your comments are all positive should give us all who think as you do a shot in the arm. I have always believed in the nature of mankind as being reasonable and service oriented. As you said, it’s not necessarily anyones fault that this “new” mentality has taken over the mind of man in this “what’s in it for me” world. Selfishness or self-serving is the rule, it seems, and service to our fellows is evidently “out.” However, after listening to you and reading the responses you’ve received tells me that, once again, the natural goodness and intelligence of the masses are , generally speaking, self-evident. The silent majority is powerful indeed. The overall plan for my IM strategy has always included the enpowerment of my customers to raise above the clamoring negatives we see and hear so much about these days.

One last comment…I hope that this is the start of a new mentality on the internet…and…Damien for President!!

    Love ya Bro!

    Hi Damian,

I do agree with you about the entitlement mentality, BUT I have been strapped for cash ( almost ended up homeless because of circumstances) and had to start all over again with no money to spare- it wasn’t a matter of not going to WalMart an extra trip a month- I simply did not have the money.

There are a few free ar programs like Parabots, Infinite Responder, and PHP List, which all need to be installed on your hosting acct. I had also used a free service which does place an add- but the ad is for their service and I have received commissions from it ^.^ With small lists the delivery rates seem to be excellent, but I do agree that paying for a service is best when people can afford it.

As far as the person who wrote that 3rd email- whatever job we have in life, we trained ourselves, learned from others or went to school for it. So Training is an investment not paying to be in business. And Yes- you do pay to be in business, you pay for your equipment, Internet connection, hosting, domains, etc.it’s called expenses.

    Thanks for letting me rant,

Hi Damian and Happy Belated Birthday
I agree with everything you stated . Maybe though everyone starting out in any internet business might understand more and have no complaints if they looked at it like this . If you love to cook and you decide you want to be a chef you can’t just go in the kitchen and throw a t.v. dinner in the oven and call yourself a chef . You need to go to culinary school . There is no free college anywhere to provide training for becoming a chef or ANY career choice and the same thing goes for the internet training thats needed . If you can’t afford one training there is always others that train for less even if its not full training its still a start to make enough money to invest in further training . There are tons of free advertising methods that work well enough to purchase further training it just takes more time , patience and focus on the work . See your new business venture as a job at first . You actually need to work to grow your job into an actual business . Even though your self employed , your purchasers are your real BOSS not you . You need to understand what your purchasers want and give them what they want or need to keep them remaining your boss . Its a give -give relationship . You give to them (satisfyingly) and they will give to you . That is how your job grows into a business , and when your big enough that you need help (employees) , then you can label yourself a BOSS . People that turn to the internet for a business , mainly those that lost their jobs , need to think about this first before searching and finding anything fast . This takes more time than you realize finding the right fit business for you and then the setting up and the learning process , this isn’t fast money to pay a just received bill . I feel for the people who lose their jobs daily in the U.S. but just realize , sink it in , the net won’t help any easier or faster than any offline business . Stay away from the “gurus” that pitch quick overnight sensations , they just suck your wallet empty and snap your credit cards in half . Pay more attention to the businessperson who is not pitching everything at you , Damian for instance , and there are a small few others out there . You don’t have to purchase every single e-mail that you receive , just the information you realize you need to fit into your business . I tell all this because I had started out the wrong way as well . I am nothing more than a simple man on a small disability monthly check with little credit , due to a bankruptcy from 2 brick and mortar businesses in the past, starting out the second half of my life at 45 . I do have more time than money to make my business grow so I can make my own paycheck instead of relying on my state for help . I am not looking to purchase all the fantasies like “gurus” preach to you that you can have by buying into their hype , I can’t physically do much with them anyway . I do want though to have my dream home built in the future and have a stable retirement life . So for those looking , remember , look at an opportunity first very closely before jumping into it , see if its interesting first , if you have enough time to work it until it works itself , go with the cheaper training first until you can invest in further training , stop complaining about not affording to the Damians that offer their support, because when the time comes you can afford they might not want to help you then , he started as well from the bottom of the barrell like everyone else , work it well and mostly be PATIENT .Oh yes and one last thing , when frustrated or whatever turn off your pc and take a breather . Good luck everyone !

    Bravo Damien,

Everything you said is so true. I’ve had plenty of failures at this game and gotten frustrated to the point of not even sitting down at my computer for a month or two. But then I get my ATTITUDE and MINDSET back into the right place and somehow become even more determined to persist against all obstacles. I intend to win or die trying.

No one owes me anything in this life. My situation in life today is the direct result of MY decisions and My actions (or lack of), and no one elses.

I’ve made some fun money marketing but never anything to brag about and the main reasons are:

    - allowing info overload to control me
    - Lack of focus because of info overload (my fault)
    - not making a clear a-z plan of action
    - not following through on the plans I do make
    - not being willing to invest in my success for fear of failing
    - and I think the most important one, relating to info overload
is that I used to fill up my hard drive with gigs of info but I didn’t spend enough time Educating myself, actually reading those ebooks multiple times until it’s stuck in my brain. I’ve been doing that for the last few months and it’s amazing how my knowledge base seems to be growing exponentially and ideas are constantly popping into my head.

All of the above are MY FAULT, and no one elses. No one is going to hand me or you free money and yet that is what so many expect. “Give me a free website and free tools and tell me where to advertise it for free and write me the ads and tell me how often to log in and count my money.” That is the mindset of so many people out there. They are looking for a free ride. So listen up people:

There is no such thing as a Free Lunch. That’s what my high school chemistry teacher used to tell us. It takes WORK! and TIME. But unlike a job, this work and time will compound like interest on a bank account and the time and work you put in now will still be paying you growing dividends 2,5,10 years from now.

You are the master of your present and your future, and you need to pound that into your brain. You can either make life happen, or let life happen to you. Think about it!

Thanks Damien for letting me rant a little.

    Hi Damien,

Appreciate your comments on the video today and agree with what you said. You don’t get any thing for nothing. Thanks for reminding me because I think I tried to start building a business with short cutting things. Now I realize it doesn’t work that way and without the foundation it will crumble and not stand. (Luke 6:49a But he that hearth and doeth not is like a man that without a foundation built a house,…).
Thank you for the stand you’ve taken. I know its not popular to say things like this but God will bless you for your honesty and for doing what’s right. Thank you Jim

I don’t even say scammed anymore cause I don’t now what it means! There are people out there that can make you believe anything can happen with words. I think seeing you makes you a little more real. Your doing a great job!! Could be that baby face!!!

    Hi Damian:

I think your resonses were well put, I have been trying for several years to accomplish something on the internet, I think the e-mails you were referring to, were not really begging you or me . Or anyone for free mentoring. I think the e-mails in question were more about there own failures with internet marketing, I think in a lot of ways , this whole internet make money thing is a vicious circle. I myself have been buried knee deep in this circle many a times. only to come up empty handed. The problem is everyone who trys this is looking and hoping for the brass ring, and if they don’t find it after once around the merry go round, they as well as myself , blame the internet marketer, who sold them the next best thing. I realize in one of those “senior monents” (55years old) that it is not there fault but rather our own, for let it happen. After all that’s what its all about making money. Right!!! I have taken a step back and reevaluated my position on this and am starting again for the 1900th time, this time working a lot slower , maybe this will be the charmer. If not then I will try again. May you and everyone out there have a blessed Day !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Best regards

    Doug !

    Hey Damian,

    Hope you’re well…
I just like to drop a note about the title of 3 DISTURBING Mails, from a business point of view…

All businesses are about RELATIONSHIPS, of pursuing the PROFIT by the very end, which keeps businesses going!
The best demonstration would be using an equation as below:

    Party A + Party B = Profit

Notice: The PROFIT that connects to BOTH party A and party B!
So, just be smile and, be patient.

I write this note by dwelling on the wishes which for the happiness of all parties once stepping in with this wonderful internet business!

    Best wishes,

    Hi Damian,
This is truly a deep subject but you are absolutely right.
Let’s put it this way… the saying, “no pain-no gain”, this applied to what you are saying.
The lottery mentality is a hard one to get over with. Freebies are great, if everyone knows how to use it. Mentoring is wonderful but just like a baby, we all have to learn how to master walking. Coach mentoring is like being tutored by a (PHd) Professor.
Everyone have a budget from $0-whatever. What that amount is, depends on how extensive the course a person wants to take.
    You’re right….
    Sincerely,
    Beth Avirett
